RapidLean Improvement Process
LeanEdge and Rapid Change Group are pleased to announce their RapidLean Improvement Process.
History has shown that only 30% of improvement initiatives achieve their desired objectives. One huge key to success is the ability to engage everyone in the organization, on an ongoing basis. That is what RapidLean is about. RapidLean is an authentic process, not recommendations tossed in from an outside consultant which management hopes will catch on.
Good culture change takes time, but it needn't take forever. RapidLean builds on tools employees are familiar with to move groups forward quickly to implement Lean ideas. RapidLean consists of a series of events to progressively build momentum for change. These events are outlined below:
RapidLean Events
- Process Assessment - A RapidLean specialist will assess your site's value stream on where it is on the Lean continuum and on the employee engagement continuum. (2 days on site)
- Goal Alignment - We share our assessment of lean and employee engagement with management to reaffirm or reset site goals. Leaders use the results of this session to craft both a view of the "Current State" and create a vision that prioritizes what changes need to be made. (1 day on site)
- Fundamentals of Rapid Change - The backbone of what we do: a workshop for all employees. Each class of up to 35 people facilitates alignment and the high performance teamwork that brings bottom line improvements. With a foundation of common language and practical change tools, participants emerge enthusiastic, with high energy. Their willingness to cooperate after training reduces the time, expense and emotional trauma associated with major transitions. After nearly 20 years of testing, this course can guarantee quick, significant behavior change. (2 days on site per group)
- RapidLean Workout - This session is held within a week of the Fundamentals course. Its guiding principle is that everyone has two jobs - to run the business and to improve the business. The approach builds on the communication and meeting tools developed during the Fundamentals course to generate lean project ideas. (1 day on site per group)
- 30 Day "Really Quick Wins" - Specialists are available to support application of Rapid Change tools to deliver on the "Really Quick Wins"
- Lean Rollout Plan - Working with the site management and improvement resources, a value stream team melds and prioritizes the ideas from the RapidLean Workouts into a Value Stream Plan with specific timelines and target outcomes.
