LeanEdge is pleased to announce the rollout of its Shrink Management Program - SHRINK Ø. The program has a goal of ZERO UNKNOWN SHRINK from milk receipt to cooler palletizing.

LeanEdge understands that achieving and sustaining low shrink levels is a key component to a lean manufacturing strategy for milk processors as raw materials is one of the largest cost areas. Historical approaches to shrink management compare milk receipts with packaged product to obtain overall shrink. These approaches oversimplify shrink and do not provide sufficient information to direct and sustain an overall plant methodology.

SHRINK Ø permanently reduces shrink by leveraging existing plant information via scrubbing, validating and trending, to produce an accurate daily shrink record. The daily shrink record is used for strengthening existing procedures, accountability, benchmarking, goal setting and targeting the most promising areas for ongoing improvement efforts.
